During summer, the area is very busy both by tourists and locals of all ages. It is clear that the tourists chose the sea-side and locals the restaurant/cafes side.

ISUUES
Boundaries have been created between the Festival and the sea.
'The Water Festival' ended up as a big open-‐air fair with no activities celebrating the original purpose of Catharsis through water.It is like a big market selling low quality and cheap products.
The power and symbolism of the sea for catharsis is ignored.
The way that the current activities are organised on site keep the people away from the beach and create boundaries between the festival and the sea.
Even thought the reason for being at that site is the sea, it is very clear that people ignore it.
The roots of the Festival are so strong and it is disappointing that the Palm Tree Promenade, which is the most important site for the Water Festival in Cyprus, cannot convey its’ symbolic character today.
