A proposed design to prove the cathartic powers of   the water element by combining ritual, recreational and medical uses.



This will be a year round program that will be able to temporarily be expanded (structurally) during the two weeks of ‘The Water Festival’ for the increased number of visitors who will come to clean themselves. This will be done by literally opening up the building to a public space.

The building’s program should encourage the people to take advantage of the existence of the water element and use it to become healthy and mentally stronger.



The design must convert the site to a place for catharsis through water (affected by the history and roots of ‘The Water Festival’)



​Catharsis of body and soul can give a symbolic as well as an essential meaning to the Festival

The direct conduct between the proposed building and the sea is very important for reasons like sea water supply, expansion of the building, attraction of people towards the sea-side 'Palm Tree Promenade' and also for aesthetic reasons like water sound.
